La Herradura is a traditional Spanish fishing village nestled amongst the mountain range and Mediterranean. Steeped in history it was where the Spanish Armada sheltered and perished in the eye of a ravaging storm.

The Moors left their stamp on the landscape and history behind in the form of a watch tower at the crest of the Cerro Gorda overlooking the village and bay.

The village is only 55mins from Malaga Airport and 65mins from Granada Airport. The ski Resort of Sierra Nevada is only 115mins away door to slope meaning you really can Sun, Sea & Ski in one day from November through to April.

Punta de la Mona is the exclusive headland which overlooks the bay and village and hosted the holiday homes of notable Madrid & Granadian Spanish families as well as ambassadors, famous musicians and artists.

Flecha Negra enjoys an unrivalled position on the Punta de La Mona overlooking not only the bay but also the Mountains that rise up from the bay into the surrounding countryside.

Also the properties are only a 15minutes walk to the beach westerly facing to the Mediterranean. Flecha Blanca sleeps 8 and is set amongst lush tropical plants and citrus trees with views across the bay and Mediterranean. Flecha Negra sleeps 10 as of Spring 19 , Both properties can accommodate small bespoke events and commercial launches either jointly or separate we are also available for filming and media usage subject to certain terms and criteria.

La Herradura boasts one of the best scuba diving experiences on the Spanish coast and the surrounding sea is a protected Marine sanctuary. Private yacht and boat hire is available from Marina Del Este just 5 minutes from the Villas. Nerja is just a 15minute drive away and Malaga city centre 45mins.

There are numerous other sporting activities available in the area to name but a few, there is kayaking ,surfing ,sailing ,paragliding ,walking ,golf, off road buggies, wind surfing and fishing.

Dining options

La Herradura, Almunecar and Nerja offer plenty of eating options and we recommend the following in La Herradura

Twenty 20, Nuevo’s Arenas & Realeango for pizza & pasta & Sardinia. Sardinia being the best beach chiringuito and better daytime for lunch, 20 we suggest for evening dining and the remaining two options are more casual. for special events we recommend Olivio & Bakus in Nerja & Firma in Almunecar

Beaches

La Herradura beach is a 15min walk down the hill via the shortcut , follow the road to the end where the clearing is , you will see the bin area to the left side and behind that is a small road follow the road around the bend v there is a small private beach area surrounded by rocks on the most easterly section of the beach it’s a little stony but other beaches include Cantarijan a short drive away and Burriana beach at Nerja which is sand but gets very busy in summer.
